Project Objectives

  1. Develop a simple working electronic prototype of FAEIS that can be demonstrated at the NASULGC meeting on 10 November 2002. The prototype shall include an Oracle database and a web-based survey interface.
  2. Create an electronic threaded discussion forum for use by FAEIS clients.
  3. Enter the 2000-2001 FAEIS data into the Oracle database.
  4. Create a help desk for support of FAEIS activities.
  5. Add functionality by adding custom search capability, and multiple permission levels for local data entry and verification.
  6. Create a custom reporting feature that allows users to download data to their desktop PC in a variety of formats.
  7. Extend the functionality of the help desk by adding a section in FAEIS dealing with hot topics and new trends.
  8. Port the completed system and previous versions on an as needed basis to USDA servers.
