FAEIS Newsletter

January 19, 2007

Greetings from FAEIS,

This issue of our newsletter is devoted to the current student and faculty surveys, and the Fall College Enrollment Survey.

Survey News

FAEIS opened for data entry on October 16, 2006.  The early deadline is January 31, 2007. We know that's not enough time for many of you so the surveys will re-open on February 12. This will allow us to add preliminary results from the 2006 surveys to our reporting database.

Here's a summary of the data we have received so far:

  • 83 institutions responding
  • 131 users have entered student data
  • 174 distinct disciplines
  • 1082 surveys (a discipline at an institution)
  • 88681 undergraduates
  • 12977 graduates
  • 19579 degrees awarded (2006)
  • 3526 faculty updated or added

Have You Finished Your Surveys?

Don't forget to mark your surveys as "FINISHED" when you are done with data entry.

You do this on the screen where you select the forms (enrollment, degrees awarded, etc).

For faculty surveys, select the "SURVEY STATUS" link and set your survey to "FINISHED."

Need Any Help?

We've tried to make the surveys as intuitive as we can but we know there are still some challenges when you are first getting started.  We're here to help! Call us at 540-231-4941 or e-mail us at : faeis@vt.edu.

College Enrollment Survey Reports

A new set of reports from the 2006 Fall Enrollment Survey can be found in the " View Reports/Data" section of the FAEIS Home Page.

In most cases these reports contain total enrollment for each college or unit reporting to FAEIS.

Survey results include:

1862 Land Grant Institutions

1890 Land Grant Institutions

AASCARR Institutions

Board of Human Sciences Institutions

Society of American Foresters Institutions

Programs Added in 2006

If data from your college is missing or needs updating, send us the enrollment numbers and we'll get them in.
