FAEIS International Programs Database

New FAEIS International Programs Database for Higher Education
At the request of the higher education community and USDA-NIFA, FAEIS has developed an International Programs Database (IPD). The database was designed by a panel of experts, extensively discussed at meetings of various professional associations, and alpha- and beta-tested with 18 institutions.

Purpose of the International Programs Database

The purpose of the international programs database is to gather institutionally supplied international teaching, research, and outreach (extension) activities information related to the FAEIS program areas of life, food, veterinary, human, natural resource, and agricultural sciences.  In addition, the database promotes the global initiatives in higher education and recognizes international accomplishments for both the institution and faculty.  The outcome will be a resource that can be used to develop partnerships with other institutions, review the breadth of international projects, and a serve as a recruitment tool to quickly identify campus-based experts who could serve on international projects.

What is Collected

  • Basic information collected in the survey includes the following:
  • Information about your international projects
  • Individuals identified as primary contacts for international projects
  • Information on faculty members who have expertise on international projects
  • Partner International institutions
  • Countries where you are working
  • Number of students studying abroad
  • Useful web sites
  • General information about international programs at your institution

Data Entry
Data entry uses on-line and/or worksheet survey instruments and is simple and brief. The "Profile" section collects annual summary data for your unit (institution or college), including the number of students studying abroad by program area. The "Projects" section collects information about your selected international projects, including the primary contact, partner institutions, countries and number of students in the project.
